Week One:
We introduced what we would be doing each week in Gardening Club and talked about what types of plants and vegetables we could grow. We also looked at the tools we would be using and discussed the rules about safety when we are going to be using them. The children had the opportunity to plant Pepper and Raddish seeds into small pots which we put into a seed tray. They also made sure that the new seeds were given water and existing plants were also well watered.
Week Two:
We transplanted seedlings that Year 5&6 had planted. We took them from their canvass covered greenhouse in their patio area and started to plant them in our vegetable patch at the front of the school. We transplanted carrots, beetroot, broccoli and spinnach.
Week Three:
We made a new scarecrow to stand in the vegetable patch. We used some of Mr. Roberts' old clothes, two old broom sticks and lots of black plastic bags to stuff the insides.
